The Theory of Everything

My Thoughts Before the Movie: I don't know what this movie is about and the title sounds boring.

My Thoughts After The Movie: I loved The Theory of Everything so much. It was about Stephen Hawking and basically how he realized that he had a motor neuron disease and how it affected his life drastically. I loved that there was humor and romance in the movie, other than just being about Stephen Hawking. I never knew much about Stephen Hawking before and this movie gave me a newfound respect for him. He went through so much, but he still maintained his optimistic view on things. The movie showed how his motor neuron disease progressed and how he dealt with it. I recommend you go see this movie when it comes out; I know I'll be seeing it again because I loved it so much.

Guardians of The Galaxy

My thoughts before the movie: I think that Guardians of The Galaxy will be really good because Marvel movies usually are.

My thoughts after the movie: That movie was wonderful. The storyline was original and the jokes were hilarious. It wasn't the best Marvel movie, but it was better than most. I loved the way that they developed the character's throughout the movie instead of having character's without development. There was a moment where [spoiler] wouldn't have saved anybody except for him/herself, but later in the movie he/she risks their life to save somebody else and I think that's fantastic character development. I loved that the Guardians didn't start off as friends, but met each other in odd circumstances and started to care for each other throughout the movie. The jokes in this movie weren't just shoved in your face, but rather casually put in the movie here and there so you would notice them, but they didn't take away from the plot. Although I knew that Star-lord was Peter, they didn't really make it clear that it was him right away so my friend that came to the screening with me didn't know it was him until the middle of the movie. I overall really enjoyed Guardians of The Galaxy and will definitely be going to see it again while it's in theaters.

My Rating: 4.5/5

Quotes from Moviegoers:
"I'm not a big Marvel fan, but I thought the movie was enjoyable. I really recommend for you to go see it in 3D. Groot was definitely my favorite character, he was so nice and adorable." -Brianna D

"I really liked this movie and will definitely go see it again in theaters. I'm really mad that they didn't play the post-credit scene. It was really funny but it had some sad parts."

Transformers: Age of Extinction

My thoughts before the movie: I don't feel like this movie will be as good as the other ones because it has none of the original characters in it except for the Autobots and one of the Decepticons.

My thoughts after the movie: I was so wrong. This movie was one of my favorite out of all of them. Personally, I think it's better that there are different characters because the story line doesn't just stick with the same character throughout all of the movies. Age of Extinction is set place 5 years after the war in Chicago where almost the entire city was destroyed. The CIA tries to hunt down and kill all of the autobots because they "cause destruction" even though they were trying to protect the humans during the war. This movie has almost nothing to do with the other movies except that the autobots are all the same thought the movies. I brought my friend that has never seen a Transformers movie and she understood everything that was going on. So if you haven't seen any of the other Transformers movies but you want to see this one, you don't have to watch the other ones if you don't want to. At the theater, they even had a bunch of cars that looked like the ones from the movie and they also had people dressed up like an Autobot, Decepticon, and Bumblebee. Overall, it was a really great movie and I will definitely be seeing it again while it's in theaters.

My Rating: 4.5/5

Quotes From Moviegoers:
"It was the best Transformers movie I have seen. It was a little lengthy but it never had a dull moment. I really liked it and want to see it again." -Taylor R.
"It was very good." -Brianna D.

The Fault In Our Stars

My thoughts before the movie: I've heard great things about this movie. I've heard it's just like the book and I can't wait to see it.

My thoughts after the movie: THAT MOVIE WAS SO PERFECT. Everything about it was perfect. They included mostly everything that was in the book except for Caroline Mathers (Gus's deceased previous girlfriend) and Kaitlyn (Hazel's best friend). I was really looking forward to seeing the scene where Hazel lets the little girl in the mall (Jackie) try on her cannula because I think it is a really cute scene and I was disappointed that that scene wasn't in the movie. I also think Caroline is an important part of the story because Hazel doesn't want to die and leave him especially since it's happened to him before. They also left out the scene where Hazel and Gus sell the swing set. By the end of the movie, pretty much the entire theater was sobbing. The only exception was one guy in the back of the theater and he was laughing while everyone else was crying. My mom said to me, "That movie was so sad." Pretty much all the words in the movie are quotes directly from the book. It had more humor than the book though. There were points in the movie when I was sobbing and laughing. I loved that movie so much and I want to see it thirty more times. People that say Ansel and Shailene aren't a great Gus and Hazel are wrong. In my opinion, Ansel and Shailene are the perfect Gus and Hazel. I think that it's stupid when people judge an actor if they don't have the same hair or eye color as their character. Nat was a great Isaac, even though he didn't have blond hair. I can't wait until Paper Towns comes out because I think that Nat will be an amazing Quentin. I really love the soundtrack and I'm glad that they included some of the songs in the film. I just can't wait two more weeks for it to come out because I want to see it again and again.

My Three Words: Perfect, sad, and wonderful

My thoughts before the movie: I think this movie will be really funny. because Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are in it. I hope it isn't as bad as people say it is.

My thoughts after the movie: I was surprised; I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. I read some good and bad reviews about it, so I didn't really know what to expect. It was funny and I really enjoyed it. It was cute, but it was pretty predictable. I just feel like they should have made some things a little less obvious; I knew what would happen in some parts. It's not that I didn't like the movie, it was just a predictable because I've seen too many movies with some of the same situations. I still loved it though and it was hilarious. Any time Terry Crews showed up on screen with his background singers, the entire audience just started laughing. Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are also extremely funny. I feel like the jokes weren't scripted and they just made up jokes as they went along filming. Don't think it's a bad movie just because of my review, it's a great movie and I recommend you to see it. The movie screen was really weird because it was curved and I'm not used to curved screens. This screening was different because there were actually trailers for other movies before the movie, which usually aren't played at screenings. I won't be seeing it again while it's in theaters, but I will probably watch it again when it comes out on DVD if my dad wants to see it.

My Three Words: Funny, cute, and predictable

X-Men: Days of Future Past

My thoughts before the movie: I haven't seen many commercials for it, but I feel like it will be better than the other ones.

My thoughts after the movie: *The post-credit scene is all the way at the end of the credits and not right after the short main credits.* I really loved the movie and it was great. I didn't like it as much as X-Men: First Class, but I still loved it. I didn't like how they did the time travel because Logan (Wolverine) told the people in the past that he came from the future and he told them things about the future. If you watch Doctor Who, you would know why that bugs me so much. The movie was suspenseful and action-packed and I loved it so much. I was a little confused about the ending because Logan couldn't have changed that much that would make that happen. I probably should have rewatched the other movies along with X-Men: First Class because I got a little bit confused. My mom and I both said "Isn't he dead?" And "I thought he lost his powers." Maybe it's because I was so tired from my track meet that I couldn't keep up with what was going on. I vaguely remember any of the movies because it's been so long since I've seen them. I happened to get one of the luxury seats in the theater. They were comfortable, but I wouldn't pay an extra $2.50 a ticket for them. It was a good movie, but I got a little bit bored as some parts. Like all Marvel movies, it had some humor. It probably won't be seeing it again while it's in theaters, but I will include it in my X-Men marathon when it comes out on DVD.

My Three Words: Suspenseful, action-packed, and hilarious

The Amazing Spider Man 2

My thoughts before the movie:  I have high hopes for this movie and I think it's going to be really good because Marvel movies always are. I don't think that it will be better than Thor, but probably won't be as good as Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

My thoughts after the movie: OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. The Amazing Spider Man 2 was so, well, amazing. It was the best Spider Man movie I've ever seen. I didn't know that the screening would be in 3D. The 3D was phenomenal. Like all Marvel movies, it was really obvious who the villain was and how/why they would become the villain. But, that's probably just because I watch too much TV. The movie was so funny throughout. But, near the end, there were tears all over my face and my hoodie. I was sobbing and I was just a mess. That movie pained me. No spoilers, but be prepared to cry. The movie was so great and I loved it. Gwen and Peter's relationship is so adorable. I literally cried over how cute they are. Peter kept thinking about how Gwen's dad died because of him and he tries to protect Gwen. I love that Gwen is Peter's first priority. Andrew Garfield's and Emma Stone's relationship is even more adorable. I loved how the movie had two different villain's stories (Electro and the Green Goblin). On a scale of Thor (1) to Captain America: The Winter Soldier (10), it was about an Avengers (9.5). I will definitely be going to see it again while it's in theaters.

My Three Words: Action-packed, hilarious, and painful

My Rating: 4.5/5

The Other Woman

My thoughts before the movie: I feel like this movie is going to be kind of like This Means War where two men are both dating the same woman and they let her choose who she wants. I think that this movie is going to be a typical chick flick.

My thoughts after the movie: I was completely wrong. That movie was so much better than This Means War. Basically, The Other Woman is about Kate (Leslie Mann) finding out that her husband Mark (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) has been sleeping with Carly (Cameron Diaz) and they become friends and try to ruin Mark's life. They soon find out that Mark has also been sleeping with another woman named Amber (Kate Upton). I thought that this movie would be a typical chick flick, but my dad was laughing along with all the women and few other men in the theater. It was such a great movie and I really enjoyed it. Leslie Mann and Cameron Diaz had me laughing almost the entire time. Leslie Mann and Cameron Diaz are so funny apart but they're even more hilarious together. It was a good movie, but I won't go see it at the theater again. If anything, I'll wait until it comes out on DVD, but I probably won't watch it again anytime soon.

My Three Words: Hilarious, uplifting, and delightful

My Rating: 3/5

My thoughts before the movie: I'm honestly really scared to see this movie because I feel like it won't be anything like the book.

My thoughts after the movie: Whoever was in charge of casting deserves an award. Shailene Woodley is the perfect Tris. I was a little nervous about Theo James at first because he seems a bit old to play Four, but he's the perfect Four. Miles Teller is hilarious as Peter. Kate Winslet is such an amazing actress that she made me hate Jeanine even more than I already did. I love how the special effects crew made Chicago look as if there had been a war there and not like the typical futuristic city. Although the movie wasn't 100% accurate, it was pretty close to the book. I see why they left out the things that they did. But, I'm really disappointed that they didn't have the butter knife scene, Uriah, and Dauntless cake in the movie at all. Uriah's name was on the ranking board, but that doesn't explain his character and he is really important in Insurgent and Allegiant. I also didn't like that Tris just shot Will and moved on without any emotion. I hated that, in the movie, they didn't really go in depth with the secondary characters and I think that they should have because friends are an important part of the book. Overall, the movie stayed true to the book. I really enjoyed the movie and will definitely be seeing it again on theaters.

My Three Words: Action-packed, wonderful, and intriguing

My Rating: 4/5
